While you’re here also travel the Cider and Ale Trail, to explore the many cider houses and micro-brewery or for something completely different visit the new gin distillery, Four Pillars in Healesville.

Picture yourself enjoying a breathtaking balloon ride over the Valley; our guests choose Go Wild Ballooning, and love to share stories of their magnificent early morning flights.

Don’t miss watching the chocolatiers creating their magnificent sweet delights at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, wander through the stunning TarraWarra Museum of Art or catch your very own fish for dinner at the Buxton Trout and Salmon Farm, they are great cooked on the BBQ on your private deck.

Experience Lake Mountain Melbourne’s closest Alpine Resort, a year round natural wonder with excellent walking trails in summer and cross country skiing in winter. Don’t miss the boating and fishing waterways of Lake Eildon, Victoria’s second largest body of water (after Port Phillip Bay).

Visit the “Land of the giant’s” at Cambarville, this is the site of some of Victoria’s tallest trees. Walk through the magnificent old growth Eucalypt forests, find waterfalls and lush glades of Tree Ferns and be amazed by the giant mountain Ash trees.

Take time to explore the many quaint villages of the region but don’t miss while in the area: Narbethong on our door step, have a meal at The Black Spur Inn, tell the Kennedy’s you’re staying at Woodlands; they will look after you, relax at White Lotus Day Spa and Gift Shop, Diane offers the most amazing treatments. Evergreen Winery Tours offer private wine tours and pickup from Woodlands. Farm Gate sales along the regional Food Trails are a great experience.

Marysville a beautiful mountain village with its famous Lolly Shop and Produce store, visit Bruno’s Art & Sculpture Garden, a world class tourism experience, Bruno’s magnificent picture book is on the coffee table in our cottages. Wonder up to the beautiful   Stevenson’s Falls, they are lit up at night, take a stroll along one of the many walking tracks then relax with a coffee at Fraga’s, or Made in Marysville, indulge at Chocolate in Marysville or just enjoy a drink at T-Bar or Duck Inn. Have a round of golf at the picturesque Marysville Golf Course or experience Crystal Gardens for all things crystal.

Healesville a buzzing tourist town situated along the shady tree-lined boulevard, with many speciality shops and cafes, wonderful produce stores such as Kitchen and Butcher, Healesville Harvest, and our favourite Innocent Bystander for great coffee, cheese, and wine. Healesville Hotel boasts winner of the best regional restaurant of the year again this year and has a coveted chef’s hat. Spend some time exploring Healesville Sanctuary or lose yourself in Hedgend Maze.

Australia’s Premiere Native Wildlife Sanctuary, a great way to spend an afternoon Tarra Warra Museum of Art enjoy the exhibition’s and stay for lunch at TarraWarra Estate Restaurant visit there Wine Tunnel Cellar Door before you leave.

Bruno’s Art & Sculpture Garden in Marysville is a tribute to Bruno’s wit and talent everyone loves visiting Bruno’s Stevenson’s Falls in Marysville is lit up at night and a well worth the visit.

Scenic Self-Drives from Woodlands

Drive 1     
Narbethong > Marysville >  Cambarville>Woods Point & return (half day plus stops).
Take a picnic lunch, we can organise one for you and fully enjoy the Land of the Giants at Cambarville.

Drive 2          

Narbethong>Marysville>Lake Mountain & return (half day plus stops).
Lunch on Lake Mountain or in Marysville or better still have a late lunch at The Black Spur Inn on the way back to Woodlands.

Drive 3          
Narbethong > Acheron Way > Warburton > Healesville > Black Spur, a great loop drive back to Woodlands.
The Black Spur is one of the world’s most spectacular scenic drives take your time and really drink it in, open your window and breath. Enjoy lunch at Wild Time Café in Warburton or one of the many great Café’s in Healsville; we love coffee at Eludae or gelato at gelAperia.

Drive 4        
Narbethong > Taggerty > Thornton > Lake Eildon and return (half day plus stops).
Take a picnic lunch and a bottle of wine and spend time by the water. Buy some locally grown meat at The Thornton Butcher on your way back, great on the BBQ.

Drive 5        
Narbethong > Alexandra > Yea > Flowerdale > Kinglake (the long way back to Melbourne – two hours plus stops).
If you’ve got some time have lunch in Yea at the Gallery 34 they host many brilliant exhibitions as well as serving great food.

Radius Bar & Grill at Vibe Hotel is led by executive chef Leigh Colville, showcasing the best regional produce sourced within a 100km radius, open for lunch and dinner every day.

Fraga’s Café – is great for coffee and is open every day from 9.00am til 4.30pm.

Marysville Patisserie – the fudge here is to die for and they so much more, open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch from 9.00am til 4.30pm.


The Healsville Hotel Dining Room is the winner of the best regional restaurant of the year again this year and has a converted chef’s hat, it is open every day, for lunch and dinner, specialises in sharing plates and the pub section serves excellent pub fair.

Bella Vedere @ Badger’s Brook Estate, is owned and operated by executive chef Gary Copper, the menu changes constantly as he uses produce from his kitchen garden and works with the SLOW food philosophy; seasonal, local, organic and whole.

Innocent Bystander Café @ Giant Steps Winery this buzzy eatery is lots of fun, they offer wood fired pizza and so much more, all day every day

Herd Bar and Café a new addition to the area is well worth a visit, open everyday.
